It seems like everyone wants Sanjaya eliminated from American Idol but after last night’s voting, most people want him to stay. Yet again, he survives and someone has fallen again. The Fro Patro, Chris Sligh was eliminated tonight. With him in the bottom three is Phil Stacy and Haley Scarnato.

During the performance night, the judges agree that Chris Sligh’s performance wasn’t good enough. Paula and Randy thought that he was out of beat but still had a good vocals. Simon, on the other hand, though it was a mess. Same goes with Haley. They thought she was boring, forgetable and safe. In contrast, Phil had the judges on his side.

So, where’s Sanjaya? The person people expected to be in the bottom three and get eliminated? Well, it seems America really loves the guy. And, his performance wasn’t as bad as his previous performances. So maybe, he’s given another chance (again).

FOX’s Prison Break is one of the most popular TV series today. With two successful seasons, a third season is not surprsing. The second season of Prison Break is about to end. This year has been a pretty solid year for them. It has averaed a 9.1 million viewers per week and winning the the 18-24 and 18-49 male demographics for its time. Prison Break also ranks second in all 18-49 age demographics.

Last Monday’s episode has the two brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows in Panama; Dr. Sara Tancredi caught; Agent Mahone still on a Manhunt; and a change of plans. Two episodes left for the season. More mysteries and conspiracies to unravel. What’s next for season 3?

Taylor Hick is not the ordinary American Idol winner who would do cheesy, acting videos etc. His first single and first video, Just to Feel That Way, has just been recently released. The single came out a month after the release of his album. Despite this, Taylor Hicks’ self-title debut album managed to sell more that 600,000 copies in the United States alone. That is, with no carrier single, the album has sold lots of copies.

The video for Just to Feel That Way is not the ordinary video that makes artist act, cheesy poses etc. It’s definitely about Taylor Hicks–the performer and the artist. It has a live studio feel in it. The Soul Patrol will enjoy it!

SOUL PATROL!!!  

Last night, American Idol said goodbye to background singer Brandon Rogers. Forgetting his lyrics and a weak performance of "You Can’t Hurry Love" might be reason why he did not receive enough votes to carry him on to the next round. On the other hand, despite grueling comments from the judges, Sanjaya Malakar, 17, managed to get enough votes that shocked some of the audience and the viewers at home.

Although Brandon’s departure might not be as shocking as Daughtry’s elimination, some people believe that Sanjaya deserved the boot. However, charm and charisma might have also been a factor for Sanjaya’s survival, plus, his Hair!

Last week’s American Idol is very crucial for the contestants. They really needed to step up their game in order to be in the top 12. The boys seem to be less exciting than the girls. The girls really had a better night than the boys and the judges also thought so. Jordin Sparks started the show and even Randy said that it was a different night and the girls were really up for the competition. The guys seem to disappoint but not all of them, of course! Blake Lewis delivered one of the most unique performance in Idol History–REGGAE. Yes, reggae. The Beat-Box Idol performed a 311 song that has a combination of R&B, Rap and Reggae.

But the week was all about who will make it to the top 12? Will America shock as again? Well for sure there will be shockers but last week seems to be a real shock even the judges could not believe it. Sundance Head did not make it to the top 12! Sanjaya, who is considered to be one of the weaker contestants, made it and this got everybody talking. Did he deserved to be in the top 12? Well, America thinks so. We just have to wait and see…

So, who will be the next American Idol? 

As 2007 began, MTV Philippines went off-air for about two months. It was replaced by MTV Asia. Some people have been asking: is MTV Philippines really gone or is it just for several weeks. As weeks went by, there have been no signs of MTV Philippines. There were rumors that it has shut down and will never resume. Then, on the last week of February, MTV Philippines began promoting through radio stations. March 1. MTV Philipines is back on air.

What do we expect? Is there something new?

Well, of course! MTV Philippines has new VJs led by Anne Curtis, Maggie Wilson and Victor Basa. Also expect new shows and upcoming events from MTV.
